Nai Davis (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and musician currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He received a BFA in Photography from Parsons, The New School for Design, and an MPS from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. Nai is a current, part-time professor in the Photography program at Parsons, The New School for Design in New York City. He has also taught as adjunct professor at The Cooper Union.

 

Nai combines photography, graphic design, performance, audio, and research to express ideas around cultural, racial, and gender identity. His work draws attention to often ignored dynamics between the storyteller, the viewer and the subject. His pedagogical practice centers Black, indigenous, queer, and trans folks to teach through an alternative, expansive, and inclusive lens.
